Under 16s played their league final against Knockaderry on saturday and put up a great performance against the tournament favourites. Match report here

U10s Camogie played Ahane in a friendly last Wednesday and had a great time and also had a great time in the regional U10s blitz where teams as far as Kerry (Cillard) came and also from Templeglantine, Patrickswell, Adare and Croagh/Kilfinny. Thank you to all who came and to those that helped out on the day. Looking forward to next blitz in Cappamore at end of month.

U9,10,11, 12 Hurling Outing to Galway
There was a great day out for over 50 of the Monaleen boys as our Under 9, 10, 11 and 12 hurlers went on a trip to Kinvara in County Galway on Sunday 13th May. From the screaming on the bus through the Limerick Tunnel, to the top class hurling on the windswept fields of Galway, and on to the fast-food in Shannon on the return journey, it was a very memorable day. The Under 9's and 10's were first up, and split into two teams, playing the hosts' teams. Each team had two games and all were played out very well in tough, cold conditions. Afterwards the Under 11's and 12's joined forces, again split into two teams, and had two games each. In each game, the sliotar was gamely contested for and the hurling was of high quality. The Monaleen boys came out on top on the scoreboard in most cases, though each and every game had to be fought over, as Kinvara showed pride and determination.  This was a return trip for us as we had hosted Kinvara last autumn, and our hosts treated us exceptionally well for the day, with great hospitality, and enough food and hot drink to keep us going. We thank them very much for that. These are the days to remember, and this was certainly a special one.

Girls U12 Football Monaleen 4-4 Knockainey 3-2
The girls continued their good form on Friday night against a lively Knockainey team. Knockainey started the better but couldn't score with Christina Maletta playing solidly in the Monaleen goal. We settled down after ten minutes and took some good scores through Ellen Magner, Vicky Enright, Rachel O' Dell and Annie Russell to lead 2-4 to 1-0 at half time. Knockainey scored a well worked goal just after half time and looked to be getting on top when Ruth Heavey finished a nice passing movement to the Knockainey net after eight minutes to leave the score 3-4 to 2-0 in our favour. With Aine Nelligan dominating for Monaleen in defence and Mikayla Leahy and Emma Doyle coming into the game at half forward the pressure told with a good Annie Russell goal. Knockainey never gave up and scored 1-2 in the final minutes to leave us five point winners.

Monaleen  U10 Football
Our footballers took to the field for their first blitz of the year last Friday in Ahane. We have played two games up until now and done very well in both. Last Friday we travelled with 28 boys and played Adare, Ahane and Claughaun in six great matches. We did very well in all matches even though we split our panel in two and contested very strongly in all games. Well done boys keep it up.

U15 Footballers County Final
The U15 footballers suffered a narrow defeat in the County championship final when they lost to a strong Newcastlewest side at Rathkeale on Sunday. Despite a battling performance from a team who never gave up we lost by a score of 3-5 to 3-1.

Lotto numbers for 10th May were 10,11,15,23. Jackpot of 5400 was not won. Lucky dip winners of 50 euro each.
