U12 Camogie

U12 Championship

Our U12 team recently finished the U12 Championship, playing Crecora, Galbally, Newcastlewest and Murroe-Boher. It was a chastening experience for us as we tried our best but had nothing to show for it. We had good performances from our players but the other teams had that little bit extra.

City Tournament

A new city tournament is starting in 2 weeks for U13 and U11 players. It begins in Ahane on Sunday 13-October with the U11 team playing at 10am and the U13 team playing at 11am. Two home games follow against Crecora and Patrickswell. A final is scheduled for the following week, Sunday 3-November.

Ballyboden Visit

Ballyboden are visiting us on Saturday 19-October. This is the 2nd year that they have made their reciprocal visit after our visit on All Ireland Camogie final day. Matches will be played on Monaleen main pitch.

Winter Training

We will be moving to UL astro pitch in November for winter training.

New Coaches Needed

I want to appeal again to any parents who can manage to give time to help out the coaches. We have only 2 coaches for the U12 group. We get upwards of 25 children at training and matches and it is a struggle for myself and James to commit each week as we both have work commitments with shift patterns. It is not fair for the children either as we cannot give the required attention to everyone at training that we would like. This week's training has had to be cancelled due to prior commitments. If we had a third or fourth coach, this would not have happened. You don't need any experience to help. We just need your time. It doesn't have to be every week as we understand we are all busy. You never know, you might even enjoy it!

Please let me know if you can help. Julian 0863470587 or julian.darcy at

Bag Packing

Please support the bag packing on 31-October and 1-November. We need parents to help out packing bags. Contact me if you want to help out - Julian 0863470587. This is very important for funding the club. Even if you can only give an hour, that would help.

Camogie U14's

Training Tue 6.30-7.30. End of season blitz Sat 12th @ clubhouse .. Refreshments provided

Camogie U13s

training Tue 6.30 -7.30 .. Autumn league commencing Sun 13th away v Ahane

U8 Camogie county blitz

24 teams descended on the fantastic facilities at UL all weather complex for a feast of camogie with our youngest players showing how well they have progressed their skills after all their hard work over the year.

Monaleen was one of the few clubs to bring 2 teams to the event which shows the current strength in dept we have. Team A lined out against Crecora, Granagh and Mungret St. Pauls respectively and produced a loss and 2 draws with Team B playing against Crecora, Cappamore and Ballybrown and coming away with 2 losses and a draw. Most importantly each player represented us with very good performances and considering we are only recently back training with little match exposure we can be very happy with how the girls aquitted themselves.

Thanks to James Johnson for organising a superb tournament.
