Intermediate Camogie 5th May

Monaleen-Tournafulla played Na Piarsaigh in Caherdavin on Sunday 5th May last in what proved to be an exciting and entertaining encounter. The home team would be among the favourites to win the competition so this was a great test for our girls at this stage of the season.

5 Monaleen girls made the starting 15 and all played their part in what was a great win. Shannon Power and Grainne Fullen dealt well with  the early Na Piarsaigh onslaught in the first half restricting the home side to just 1 goal. Niamh Doyle had a great game at half forward setting up a number of scores. Eileen Russell and Aoife Hogan also played well in the full forward line.

Goals won the game and 5 from our girls was enough to ensure a 1 point victory.

Final score Monaleen Tournafulla 5-4 Na Piarsaigh 1-15

Camogie U14 League

Monaleen 1-1 Crecora 1-8

We played our last game of the qualifying stages of the league on Tue 30th April last against Crecora and fought a good battle throughout. Crecora got off to a good start with an early goal and picked off some very fine points before Monaleen got into their stride and fought back well with an Emma Donohoe goal and great point by Robyn McDonnell. A fine performance by Aisling Kennedy in goals kept us in the game but we couldn’t close the gap. Our next match is the league quarter final against Ballybrown in Monaleen on Tue 14th. All support welcome.
