U8 Hurling: Next U8 hurling is the GO Blitz to be held in Adare this Friday 4th May against Adare, Na Piarsaigh & Croagh/Kilfinny.

Boys U14 Football League Final.

Monaleen  4-7, Newcastle West 0-2.

Monaleen produced yet another fine display yesterday in Rathkeale and added the league title to the feile title they won last week in Bruff. Playing into the strong wind in the first half Monaleen showed great composure and patience, their ability to work the ball from backs to forwards  was superb and in doing so led at the break 2-01, to 0-2.

The second half was all one way traffic and within minutes of the restart Jamie Power scored his third goal of the game, another goal from Alan Nicholas points from Dara Neville, Daniel O’Brien Christie, Darragh O Leary, Darren Coughlan and half back Niall Loughran were enough to seal the victory. Sean Fitzpatrick in goal was superb along with his back line,  James Kelly, Daniel Enright , Ger Clancy and Eoin Carew.  Sean Malone and Niall Loughran pushed forward with every available opportunity and created the platform for our forward to finish the job. Mark O Dwyer and Darren Golden O’Mahony in midfield orchestrated the whole show.

The subs bench was fully utilised,  Shane Carmody, Brian Sheehan, Brian Cunningham, Christopher Murphy, Conor Doyle and Michael Griffin all adapted well to the tempo of the game. Newcastle West were a credit to the club and worked hard throughout, never at any stage did they consider the game was over and continued  to play good constructive football, a credit to their coaching  staff. Team: S Fitzpatrick, J Kelly, D Enright, G Clancy, N Loughran, E Carew, S Malone, M O’Dwyer, D Golden O’Mahony, D Neville, D Christie, A Nicholas, D Coughlan, J Power, D O’Leary. Subs: B Cunningham, B Sheehan, S Carmody, C Murphy, C Doyle, M Griffin.

U12B Football League. Monaleen played their first U12B League match last week at home against Mungret. Some good football on display with Mungret coming out on top. Mungret got some early goals which Monaleen fought hard to recover from and showed very well all through the second half. Team:  Mark Griffen, James Flannery, Mark Harty,  Micheal, Hanrahan, John Moloney, Niall McGrath, Steven McNamara, Darragh Killeen, John Toland, Caolain Madden, Jason Aylward, Robbie Donegan, Jack Collopy, Evan Costello, Taylor Gleeson, Barry Sutton.

U8 Football: Friday 27th April saw the first GO Games blitz of the season when we welcomed Ahane, Claughaun & St Patrick's to Monaleen. For many of these young players it was their first Gaelic Football match and each player put on a performance to be proud of. Monaleen played some great football and gave an exhibition of scoring which bodes well for the future of this group of players.Team: Aaron Haugh, Evan O'Connell, Alex Carragher, Darragh Langan, Darragh Clifford, Oisin Toland, Jack Ryan, Muiris O'Dalaigh, Ben Hayes, Gerard O'Driscoll, Conor Treacy, Darragh Murray, Tom Darcy, Oisin O'Connor.
U8 Football (2004) training is every Monday at 6pm. All new players are welcome to attend.
