U8/U10 blitz Newcastlewest
A combined U8/U10 team travelled to Newcastlewest last Saturday 25th May to play the host team in their own backyard.
With the planned blitz reduced to a single match, an extended game of 20 mins per half was agreed.
Playing against strong opponents the girls were under pressure from the start but grew into the game as it progressed and in the second half we were much better defensively and created plenty of scoring opportunities. Thanks to Newcastlewest for a sporting and enjoyable game.
Well done girls, keep up the good work!

Camogie U14 League Semi-Final

Monaleen 5-2 Causeway 2-5

Our U14s continued their recent good form with a fine win over Causeway in this semi final played in Adare last Tue 21st.  Aine Doyle & Robyn McDonnell got the scoring off to a good start with early goals but Causeway fought back and were well in contention at the break. In the second half Monaleen stepped up their performance level and tightened up defensively allowing little opportunities for Causeway to score goals – Shalini Kujur, Katie Golden, Ann Burke and Annie Russell  cleared their lines well and a great display at full back by Fiona Fitzpatrick kept them out. At the other end Aine & Robyn continued their scoring spree, with Claire Kelly pointing two long range frees for good measure.

Overall a great performance by the girls and worthy qualifiers for the final v Kilmallock

Team: Aisling Kennedy, Fiona Fitzpatrick, Shalini Kujur, Aine Nelligan, Katie Golden, Anna Burke, Annie Russell, Ellen Magnier, Aine Doyle (3-0), Robyn McDonnell (2-0), Susan Fullen, Ruth Heavey, Claire Kelly (0-2), Sarah Costelloe, Aoife O Driscoll, Kerri O Donoghue.

'Come Hurl with Me' program

Week 1 of the 'Come Hurl with Me' program started last Friday 24th May and was a great success with a great turn out by parents.

The evening started with Mums and Dads being brought through their paces by coach Oisin Hickey after which parents and children practised some drills together.

The highlight of the evening was a match between the parents while the girls cheered on from the sidelines.

Coach Oisin is a Clare U21 All-Ireland champion so Mum's and Dad's were in good hands! Each one of the participants brought great attitudes (and not too shabby skills!) to the pitch so well done and we'll see you next week!
