Charity Event in Aid of Monaleen Cancer Care Group
Monaleen Camogie Club and Recipe for Success have teamed up to organise a fun charity event on Nov 15th. The event is a hands on cooking demonstration and we've invited along a few special guests to join in the fun. So far we have hurlers Gavin O Mahony, Seanie Tobin and Paudie O Brien, and camogie star Judith Mulcahy, who have kindly agreed to show us their cooking skills and help out on the night. Tickets are €30 each and adults and kids are welcome. Contact John (086 0430193) or Brendan (087 9370734) for tickets.  More details on our website.

On Saturday our U11’s were narrowly defeated by Mungret in the A Final of the Autumn City League. In atrocious weather conditions the Monaleen girls battled hard against a more physical Mungret side. Mungret had the majority of possession during the early part of the game, but the Monaleen backs and in particular goalkeeper Rachel Shinners did well to keep the sides at level pegging at half time. It was Monaleen's turn to dominate in the second half, but despite the best efforts of the midfield pairing of Aoife Nelligan and Grace Clohessy and some fine hurling from Ella Hession in the forward line, the scoreboard remained scoreless at full time. It was in the first period of the extra time that Mungret finally broke the deadlock with a goal. Monaleen continued to fight for every ball and were unlucky not to equalise in the final minutes of the game due to some fine goalkeeping from Mungret. Congratulations to Mungret and well done to the Monaleen girls who battled hard all day, never gave up and have done their club proud.
