Feile 2013

Féile na nGael is a national festival of Hurling, Camogie and Handball for boys and girls under 14 years of age and is based on the GAA club unit. Féile na nGael 2013 is being hosted in Limerick from July 5th -7th.

This year, as part of Féile Monaleen will be hosting two teams – one each of Hurling and Camogie.   48 children and 6 mentors will be hosted in family homes in the Monaleen, Castletroy and Annacotty areas. 

Monaleen camogie team will be hosting Portaferry, the Co. Down champions.They will arrive on Fri 5th July and play Monaleen in the club grounds. Later that evening both teams will participate in the grand parade from the Gaelic grounds to O Connell street. 

Other teams in the group include - Annacarthy from Co. Tipperary and Knockanna from Co. Wicklow. A series of games will be played and the winners will progress to the semifinal. The final will be played in the Gaelic ground on Sun 7th July.

The official feile launch is on Thursday 22nd May. During the week the president of the GAA Liam O Neill visited local schools to promote the feile festival.
