It was a busy week with 3 semi-finals played. First up on Thursday the U16s took on Galbally in the U16A semi in Kilteely. Monaleen started well and playing with the hill built up a huge half time lead 4-10 to 0-3. Continuing on from their great form in previous games the girls took some great scores in this half and really the game was over as a contest at half time. The second half was more competitive but the final score of Monaleen 4-12 to Galbally 1-8 means our girls are through to the final for the second year in a row and on track to defend the title. Crecora are our opponents in the final on Thursday in Boher at 7pm.
Panel: Ellie Madden; Laura Brennan; Abi Houlihan; Juliette Pinson; Amy Kavanagh; Mia O Halloran; Niamh Moloney; Clodagh Power; Charley Drury; Grace Malone; Saoirse Fitzgerald; Amy Burke; Ella Hession (2-2); Aoife Doyle(0-2); Emily O Brien (1-6); Aisling O Driscoll; Emily O Halloran; Aoife Sheehan(1-1); Ella McCarthy; Aoife Nelligan (1-1).

On Sunday morning in Boher our 12 aside Junior team won their semi-final putting up a big score v Kilmallock in a one side affair. Emily O Brien with 12 points had a great game but this was a real team performance with all the Monaleen girls playing at a high level. Final score Monaleen 3-17 Kilmallock 0-3. Our final opponents will be Kileedy with the date and time to be confirmed.
Panel: Rachel Shinnors, Mia O’ Halloran; Robyn McDonnell; Juliette Pinson; Amy Kavanagh; Clodagh Power; Niamh Moloney; Aoife Nelligan; Aoife Doyle; Ella Hession; Emily O’ Brien; Eimar Morgan; Aoife D’Arcy; Roisin D’Arcy; Charley Drury.

Later on Sunday in South Liberties our Junior A team were beaten by Galbally and are out of the competition. Galbally were much the better team in the first half as Monaleen struggled to get going. 7 points down at half time but the second half performance had more of the fight and skill that the team have showed in the matches to date. Goals from Caoimhe Lyons and Ruth Heavey brought the gap down to 1 point but time ran out to leave a final score of Monaleen 2-7 to Galbally 1-11.
