The camogie success continued for Monaleen with victory in the’ A’ U11 final played in Monaleen on Sunday. On the way to the final they beat Ahane, Adare and defending champions Crecora. In the final Patrickswell proved to be tough opposition but could not prevent Monaleen scoring 5-1 in the first half. Fantastic scores from Kerry O Donoghue & Emma Donohoe set the trend. With Patrickswell struggling to pass the Monaleen half back line where Katie Golden was dominant there was only going to be one winner. Ruth Heavy & Aisling Kennedy got the other scores in the first half but this was a team performance with Monaleen winning every line on the field.

With all the 20 member squad getting a run the second half was very competitive but the score didn’t change and Monaleen finished deserved winners. Aine Nelligan lifted the trophy on behalf of a jubilant Monaleen panel.

Incredibly this team conceded no scores in all of the competition which shows they have great defending and blocking skills throughout the team combined with good scoring ability across all their forwards has resulted in this tremendous achievement - a first 'A' title for Monaleen Camogie
