Monaleen have joined forces with Patrickswell to field  a minor team for the first time this year. This is another significant development for the club and provides an incentive for our younger girls to keep playing and hopefully continue to adult level camogie.

Minor Final championship Monaleen /Patrickswell v Na Fianna

Monaleen entered the minor championship for the first time combining with Patrickswell and earned a place in the C final.

The conditions in Ballybrown were far from ideal for hurling with wind, rain, cold and mud impacting on the game. Despite this the match was of a high standard and competitive throughout. Megan O Mara was the standout player for the monaleen/patrickswell team playing midfield and both creating chances and defending resolutely throughout the game. Ultimately Na Fianna with a higher proportion of players age 17/18 proved too strong for our girls and finished deserved winners. With all the players underage next year 2013 looks like it could be a good year for Monaleen minor  camogie.

Monaleen players: Emer Nelson; Les Ivors, Laura Enright; Niamh Doyle; Nicole Sheehan; Shannon Power; Eileen Russell; Siobhan Phelan; Grainne Fullen; Megan O Mara.
