Under 14s

Monaleen have shown great progress at U14 level. Their first title was won at U14 level in 2009, and in 2011 they competed in the U14 league and finished runners up before taking a County Championship title at 'B' level in September. In 2012 they qualified to play in the "A" championship (15 aside) for the first time - showing great year on year progress at this age level. 2013 got off to a great start winning the County League (B) in an exciting match against Kilmallock which went to extra time. It was also a big year for this age group as Limerick hosted the Feile Camogie and Hurling national competitions in July.

The highlight of the year was Féile 2013. Monaleen hosted Portaferry Camogie Club from Co Down and we were treated to a great display of camogie throughout the weekend The following photos captures some of the highlights of the memories that will live long in many peoples minds - it was a great week-end played out in glorious summer weather

The league and féile were played earlier in the year - the fixtures and results are given below.

Camogie Féile took place on Sunday 29th April. Monaleen got off to a great start with a 2-2 to 0-1 win against a strong Bruff side, but came up against a very determined Kilmallock who got an early lead which we were unable to cut losing out 3-1 to 2-0. It all went down to the last round of matches, Monaleen beating Ballybrown by 2-1 to 0-1 was not enough as Bruff and Kilmallock played out a draw leaving Kilmallock to qualify as group winners. Well done girls on a great performance.

Monaleen had a great league campaign winning all 9 of their group stage matches and qualified for the "A" competition. They played a quarter final on 22nd May against Croagh. Croagh were stiff opposition but Monaleen pulled away in the end to win by 7-6 to 2-4. They then lost out to Féile champions Crecora in the semi-final.

2011 was a great year for Monaleen U14s, winning a county championship title in September in a great match against Bruff. This followed some great wins along the way and some great performances throughout the year. The squad included three players that played at county level in 2011, Caoimhe Lyons, Nicole Sheahan and Aisling Doyle.
