Monaleen 4-5  Patrickswell 3-2

Monaleen U16 played their home quarter-final on Thursday evening against Patrickswell. Slow to settle Monaleen were 2 goals down after the first few minutes and mid- way through the first half the score was 3-1 to 1-1 in favour of Patrickswell. The Monaleen girls were stronger for the remainder of the match despite Patrickswell continuing to dominate midfield. Caoimhe Lyons was the key player on the night scoring all but 1 point of the Monaleen total from left corner forward. Patrickswell had no answer to Caoimhe’s aggressive attacking style. Claire Kelly also made a great save at a critical stage of the game to deny the Well. While far from the best performance by the team so far this season Monaleen progess to the semi- final with every chance of success.

Team: Claire Kelly; Nora Farrell; Emer Nelson; Les Ivors, Grainne Fullen; Laura Enright; Niamh Doyle(0-1); Megan O Meara; Ciara Wiley; Eileen Russell (capt.); Sinead Quinn; Aisling Doyle; & Caoimhe Lyons (4-4).
